Chinese is over!
PW is over... almost!

But never mind. At least I have gotten over 90% of my PW marks secured already. I will still need to get my Insights & Reflections done soon.

Even though I don't think I will get my A for PW, because I screwed up my Q&A (10%!), I am still satisfied that it is finally over. Now I can finally start enjoying my holidays.

Oral presentation was ok. We had around 4 rehearsals with Miss Ng, and during every rehearsal, we actually found out something new about our project, haha. It's probably because our group is too slack already, so we actually don't have many things finalised. Luckily we managed to just get through with it like this.

Anyway, all the best to all those who still have their Oral Presentations. Just go all out and impress the assessors. And also all the best to all those taking O and A level examinations.

It was her last day teaching us. After serving her as the chinese rep for about the entire year, I guess the only thing I've paid back to her is by not doing the homework she gave us.

Unfortunately, until now, I still dislike the subject itself. She is not an exceptional teacher, but it does not mean that she is not a good teacher. I can tell that she tries her best in making lessons fun and less stressful, but every time she does that, it seems like she is just repeating what she has done before. She has taught for too many years such that teaching has become something too repetitive for her. I admire her for sacrificing her whole life into the teaching career, as it is not something which anyone can do. That is why it is understandable that the way she teaches is monotonous. She has probably used up all her 'excitement' in her earlier years. Every year, she teaches students who have either failed their O levels higher chinese, or those who did not take it, or those who have failed their year 1 A level chinese and are forced to retake chinese in year 2... in other words, more often than not, she does not get a chance to teach students who are good in chinese. It is kind of a waste of her talent.

I will try my best to get my B for A levels as what she has predicted me to get. Happy retirement, Miss Tan!

You know, every time someone mentions 'semibreve', I will laugh.

I remember during one of the lower secondary music lessons in school, Mr Ikhwan was teaching us about musical notes. He told someone (I vaguely remember who, but I shall not post his name) to spell 'semibreve'. So that guy went...

S-E-M-I-B-R-I-E-F

[Mr Ikhwan]: Erm... I don't want you to tell me what you are wearing now.

Hahaha. That's a classic.

Sometimes you get very influenced by what someone else says, even if you were previously being neutral and would prefer to be neutral. For example, if you find this person okay, but one of your friends dislikes him/her very much, then some time later, you will tend to dislike that person. This does not only apply to people, it applies to decisions as well. If you have a decision originally, and you get persuaded by people towards the decision opposite from your original one, you will tend to be swayed as well. In order to decide for yourself which is best, you should always try to take what people say with a pinch of salt. Comments made by others may or may not be useful, so you must decide whether to believe or not.

This week has been eventful. Yet I cannot remember much. For all I know, every day has been Chinese days... 2 hours of Chinese daily. And without fail, I would always enter the classroom at the last minute. Hey at least I am on time... it's better than being late :). But Chinese is boring. Not the subject though, and not really the teacher too, but rather, the lessons and materials given. Tomorrow is the Chinese Mock Examination, and another 10 days later will be the actual A-level examination. Hoorah after that.

Then there is Project Work occurring concurrently. We handed in our Written Report on Wednesday. Personally I think that we could have done better for our WR, but I guess our group is just too slack. I actually wanted to help to do more for the WR, but I think there is no drive. I need some "magic potion to improve my drive" (inside joke). Haha. Speaking about that, I really want to thank Ernest for doing so much for the WR... compiling, editing, formatting. I think without him, our group would have died already. Of course, thanks to my other group members too: June, Kelvin and Qianru. We still have Oral Presentation and Insights & Reflections to go... only 2 more weeks and this whole Project Work issue will be behind us forever. Go go!

Our OP is on the 31st of October, one day after Chinese. So lucky, or unlucky, up to you. It is on the first day of the whole OP, and I think our group is the very first one in the morning, so our group will most likely be the first batch of people in Singapore to finish presenting first. I&R will have to be submitted on the 3rd of November, which is good because I have the whole weekend to complete (and slack).

And there's choir. Choir is going to be busy with so many things going on. I am glad that there is no more Pre-Christmas Concert even though the committees spent quite some time discussing it, but it is all right. Now we can focus on the Siglap concert, CCAB stuffs, caroling, etc. Mr Kwei just gave us the SYF/SOV songs already, so I guess we can start working on them during the holidays. Plus the Musico will be planning some vocal lessons so these will definitely keep us occupied.

I think this coming week will be a very busy one for me.

Whoa, today I nearly got knocked down by a car.

I was walking out of Siglap South CC after a long day (of Sports Fiesta and practice with VJC choir and Victoria Chorale). I was looking down and being confident that there were no cars along the thin stretch of road. However, I was wrong. Suddenly I heard a car honked at me. I looked up and saw a car just stopped right in front of me... I was quite scared at that time and immediately apologised to the driver (who just looked at me plainly through the window and drove off).

After that, I was reflecting through that. I realised that I was scared not because of injury/death, but I was scared of making the driver angry. I don't know why too. Perhaps I have been too lucky for my whole life that I don't see death in front of me. That's why I immediately apologised to the driver instead of running off to the side of the road.

It is the second time that I nearly got into a car accident. The first time happened quite recently, last year or 2 years ago, when I was crossing the road near my house. A taxi suddenly honked at me while I was crossing the road, but it braked quite a distance away from me. Then it drove off immediately.

I must conclude that I am a heckuva lucky person.

You know my results is like the rich-poor divide. I scored nearly all the (passing) grades for mid-years. But as for now, I passed many subjects with A but failed a couple of subjects. It also reminds me of one of my sec 4 results, when I got 4A1s and the others Cs and D (D is fail for sec school btw).

I am so tired. It seems like days after examinations are more stressed than days before. I'd rather study now and prepare for exams than to do other stuffs like PW... Sigh.
