Wah so long since I last blogged. I think this is my record in this blog... 15 days! So busy with stuffs. Don't even have time to blog after ponning so many lessons. I spent most of my free time sleeping away.

Rather busy with choir stuffs. After SOV, the junior Musico almost entirely takes over. I am rather relieved that most of the senior Musico has not left yet so they can still help us settle some of the things, especially when some of the SLs aren't around during the holidays.

The Exco recently took over too. Congrats to the 5 people who are in the committee! I am quite glad because most of them are who I wanted most in the committee. It shows that my vote and the choir members' votes are nearly unanimous. Sorry for the questions that I was shooting the nominees on the elections day because I really need to know who I want into the committee who will probably share the same way of thinking as me before casting my votes. Congrats to the Exco and hope that we work well together for the good of the choir.

I was also quite involved in Contract Bridge. Last Monday, on Vesak Day, I paired up with Hong Aik for this competition in Bishan CC. Got thrashed by all the ah ma and ah gong. We managed to top 2 boards but got bottom for 1 board. In the end we were ranked around half of all the pairs, after playing 24 boards. Not too bad for the first time. I think after this competition, my interest in Contract Bridge sorta rekindled. I gain more confidence playing against other people in a more competitive environment. I realised that my defending play needs to improve more. My declaring is still not say very good, perhaps I need to plan first and be prepared for any uneven breaks of cards. Lastly is my bidding skills. I think I gotta work more on the conventions first, maybe need to work with Hong Aik.

There was Strategic Games Club BBQ last Friday. Congratulations to Ryan, Jun Yuan, Hong Aik and Jun Ren for being President, Secretary, Bridge Head and Bridge Trainer! So pro I am the only one who never get any post haha. That's because I never apply for any. Choir is definitely going to take up most of my time and given my attendance for the bridge trainings (I think it's less than 10%), I'll give it a miss.

The most funny thing during the BBQ was that Jun Ren brought some really very huge signs from his cheerleading. I dunno what the signs are used for, because the words don't really make sense, but there was one sign which caught my attention. So I asked the VS group: If my partner bid 1 spades and I have no High Card Points, what should I do? Then I held up a sign which says:

PASS

It was so funny haha. I dunno why cheerleading needs that sign also.

I am glad the holidays are finally here. I hope I can actually spare some time to revise my work because I haven't really been paying attention during lectures, either sleeping in the LT or off to the Choir Room to sleep. I only know our class won the Geography quiz although the game was quite unfair. We managed to score all the points for the chapter on "rocks" because our class rocks! Then the lecturers said that our class cannot continue because we got too many points. We ended up a few hundred points behind the class with the most number of points until the last question where we placed our bet on everything that we had, and we got the answer correct haha.

Oh and there was GP. Mrs Ch'ng sent people out of the class again. I presented my newspaper report which was on a Monday 6 weeks ago. Not that I couldn't help it, but because I prepared that article for her GP lesson a few weeks ago already. She only told me to present recently. So I started my presentation like this:
This is an article on Monday, and it talks about...

And almost everyone thought it was last Monday's article, except for a few people laughing at the back *coughs Ryan coughs*.

I had to check whether I need to apply visa for my Wales trip. So I called the UK Visa Application Centre and the conversation goes:

[Officer]: Good morning, UK Visa Application Centre.
[Me]: Hi, I am calling to check whether I need a visa to travel to Wales.
[Officer]: Wales? Where's that? Hold on ah...
[Me]: !!!

I thought I had pronounced something wrongly or called the wrong centre. Where's Wales? What a question to ask!

Wales is in around 5 weeks' time. From the looks of it, the standard seems to be quite ok. But being a part-time pessimist, maybe I am wrong.
